Page 12, panel 3
After discovering that his Outsiders team has been defeated by the Manhunters, Batman decides to interrogate the traitor Booster Gold about the Manhunters' plans. Batman and Guy Gardner travel to Booster's mansion in Metropolis to confront Booster alone. This is the first time either hero has visited Booster at home.

Batman's typically gruff attitude provokes Booster into a fight. Reluctantly, Gardner joins the fight, pitting Booster against the combined power of a Green Lantern and prowess of the Dark Knight. Booster reveals little emotion in the fight, so there is no evidence about how he feels fighting against Batman, one of his idols.

SPOILER WARNING!: Utilizing the rarely used mass/energy absorbing aspect of his force field, Booster effortlessly resists the power of Gardner's Oan energy ring, defeating both Batman and Gardner. Booster then flees his own mansion. Booster no doubt has mixed emotions about the situation. On the one hand, he was forced into combat with Batman, one of his idols. On the other hand, he has defeated some of the most most powerful Justice League members in direct combat. Reveal

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: Writer Steve Englehart's story, while flawed, was once relatively direct and comprehensible. But with this issue, the episodic vignettes are becoming less and less coherent, a detriment to a story that is already feeling long in the tooth. Fortunately, the issue is saved by a very enjoyable battle between Booster Gold vs Batman and Guy Gardner and the characterization of the increasingly frustrated Batman.
