ISSUE ANNOTATIONS

Page 3, panel 2
Booster Gold is arguing with Blue Beetle II and Mister Miracle I about their JLI shuttle overhaul in the Secret Sanctuary. Clearly, he doesn't approve of their drastic modifications. In fact, the JLI shuttle is now completely renovated in appearance. Once black, sleek, and oblate, the shuttle now appears more akin to the traditionally boxy, white Fantasticar, shuttle of the Fantastic Four.

Page 3, panel 4
PRODUCT PLACEMENT: Booster complains about the Justice League licensed comic book, especially how he is so frequently portrayed as a buffoon. This confirms that Booster appears in both a self-titled and Justice League comic book within the DC Universe. Art imitates life?

Page 10, panel 1
The Huntress has arrived to join the Justice League after Max used his superhuman power of persuasion, unlocked by the Invasion Gene Bomb, to encourage her to join in Justice League America #30. Though she is present as a member of the League, she does not accompany them on their adventure in this issue.

Page 14, panel 3
In a rare bit of poor editing, the dialogue printed here is switched between Booster and Beetle. It should read as follows:

Booster: "It's this stuff I don't trust."

Beetle: "Well, then, why don't you use some of that future technology to make sure it'll fly!"

Booster: "Could you go back in time and build a Honda for cave-men?"

Beetle: "All of a sudden he's a chronal chauvinist!"

It really doesn't make quite so much sense when you read it the other way.

While flying to join the Justice League Europe, Fire attempts to show off her new outfit to Booster, but he isn't in the mood for compliments. Dr. Fate and Fire also have new looks (Dr. Fate even has a new gender), and this is Booster's first meeting with the Huntress, the newest Justice League member.

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: Introducing the sublime artwork of Adam Hughes! This book is Hughes' first work for DC Comics, and he continues the fine tradition of outstanding artists working on this series. A beautiful book, which only suffers slightly for taking so long to get to the action.
