ISSUE ANNOTATIONS

Page 5, panel 1
Amazing Man II, Blue Beetle II, Booster Gold, Captain Atom, and Maxima are losing a three-dimensional strategic video game to Firestorm V. Perhaps this hi-tech game is manufactured by the Blue and Gold owned Lightspeed Entertainment?

Page 10, panel 6
BUSTER GOLD: Booster Gold and Firestorm begin a shouting match following Firestorm's intervention in Beetle and Booster's holographic training exercise inside Mount Thunder. Firestorm calls Booster, "Buster Gut."

Page 11, panel 6
DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THEY USED TO: Booster hides from Blue Beetle and Firestorm as he nurses his feelings and his Mark IV exoskeleton, both of which have recently been hurt. Booster is irritated at Beetle and Firestorm, for leaving him behind to enjoy life while he remains chained to his life-support systems. His armor was apparently damaged in Extreme Justice #9 during a fight with the aliens Zan and Jayna. Booster reveals that the damage has caused a failure in his "pain-blocking circuits," leaving Booster in chronic pain.

Tired of "being a burden" to his friends, Booster sets out to New York City to take Monarch II up on his offer of hope and assistance from Extreme Justice #7.

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: The actions of Booster Gold provide most of the dramatic tension in this issue as Booster finally makes a fateful decision that has been been teased for months. New series writer Robert Washington III, the series' fourth writer in the past year, presents an issue that will appeal primarily to established fans; the various plots in this issue all hinge on longtime series' subplots. Washington comes into a ready-made situation and his only noticeable injection into the stories is an accusation of racism against Maxima.

Boosterrific Rating:

Gold Standard.
